July 9th's Mommy Talk Question: Your biggest challenge of motherhood: how things were when baby was first born, how things changed as time went on and what type of challenges are you facing right now?

Where do I begin on this one? Sleep deprivation is an obvious challenge as a new mom and I went through it with both kids, but for different amounts of time. Sam was 14 months old before he slept through the night while Julia was sawing z's for 10+ hours at time at 6 1/2 months. Breastfeeding is also usually a big issue and I'm so thankful that after the first month with Sam I finally got the hang of it thanks to sheer determination and assistance from the lactation consultants from the hospital. Julia on the other hand was a nursing champ one minute after she was born. Sam had some some problems with constant respiatory infections starting around 6 months so we used a nebulizer for quite a while. He's outgrown that and we no longer need to medicate him. Praise God!
Our current issues revolve around sibling rivalry. It is a constant battle in our house trying to keep Sam from tackling or taking toys away from Julia. I'm reading "Siblings Without Rivalry" but haven't gotten far enough into it to see any tangible strategies to apply.
The other thing on our plate right now is potty training. After reading the escapades JMom is going through training her adorable triplets, I have nothing to complain about. In fact, (don't shoot me for saying this!) it's been pretty easy. As I write this my love seat cover is sitting in the washer because of an "accident" so it hasn't been a completely smooth ride. Nighttime is the worse for us. We'll put Sam in his crib and the second we cover him with his blanket he pops up to say he needs to poop. How can we say no to that? Now he's got us figured out and milks it for all it's worth. The problem is that half the time he really does need to poop. This can't go on forever right?

I'm starting to prepare for potty training my son. I was lucky with my two girls, they took to training right away but I'm told that boys are completely different. I just keep telling myself that he won't go away to college in diapers, right? You have a great blog! I love the pictures.

Ok, I just have to comment on this.... My little Justin who is 3, has somehow managed his BM schedule for EVERY DAY at 1:30 during his rest time. It never fails, so I, as his pregnant mother, never get a decent nap in during rest time. UGH!! But you are right, how can you say no when they really have to go?? :)
