Change is in the air

* Most of the changes are good...
*grass is turning green,
*flowers are coming up,
*Julia is able to go out in public wearing undies
*Sam is only napping 1 or 2 times a week - but playing quietly in his room the other days
*Photo shoots are picking up and my blog to book business is hopping

BUT....a few changes are going to be harder to swallow...

The campground opens NEXT WEEKEND.
We will have to be home by 4pm every weekday and not go anywhere other than church on the weekends (or at least not together as a family)for the next SIX MONTHS

Also, I have decided that as of tomorrow I am going to eliminate dairy from my diet as well as as much processed foods as possible. I LOVE milk so this is going to be VERY VERY hard for me BUT if I can give up pop (it'll be a year in June) I can do this...I NEED to do body has been begging for this for months.

Now if only I can get my taste buds on board.............

I could easily give up milk, but cheese is another story!!

Rock on! Your skin will thank you for it. (I am 37 days and counting soda free).
Happy day.

That's great! I know you are going to feel a difference! :)

Ask away if there is something diary you want to find an alternative for or something in a recipe. I'm played around a lot with things like that.

oh and after you've been off it for a month you should have cheese pizza and ice cream just so you can really feel the immediate difference. It will help keep you going on 'no dairy'

and what a bummer about your 'curfew'. We love going places as a family... you can early in the week day right?

I guess the summer camping season at the park is far busier and more restricting than the winter is. It kind of stinks but I know y'all love the park (& its perks!) and are far more thankful for the chance to raise your kids there.

I wish you luck on going cold turkey on no dairy. Not sure if I could do it. I'm pretty sure I could give up sodas, however. My weakness is sweet tea. You know I live in the South and we LOVE our sweet tea. I'm pretty confident in admitting that I'm addicted to the tea.

Totally understand cutting out as much processed at possible. I am interested though in why you decided to cut the dairy.

Why are you getting rid of dairy? Maybe I don't want to know...because then maybe the reason will be someting I need to look into...and I love dairy...and I am lactose intolerant.

Being home everyday sounds challenging but nice. Cutting out all the dairy sounds like a HUGE change. I've honestly never heard about all the reasons to until I read the link you posted on Twitter. I'm shocked at all the facts and am very interested in the whole concept. Is just you or the whole family cutting it out?

Good luck with changing those taste buds...I have just given up soda and I still want to taste a dr. pepper even though I know I shouldn't!

I don't drink much milk as I'm lactose intolerant. I do eat cheese, and you know, being in Wisconsin, I couldn't live without my curds. Keep us posted! :-)

Best of luck! I adore milk...I use it medicinally, too (works wonders for cramps and it replaces the lost myosin after a workout--you won't get sore).
Keep us posted on how your body feels with the change!
