This summer has barely begun and I've had to resort to taking notes in order to remember what we did just one day prior! I'm of the mentality that if the weather is nice then get out and enjoy it while you can and that's exactly what we did yesterday. From 10-1 we played at the park with Julia's school playgroup which was perfect because being the second of June, it was her special day.
She picked cinnamon rolls for breakfast and I let the kids get fruit smoothies at Target as an afternoon pick-me-up. They also served as a moral booster because I screwed up at a garage sale and drove past a StarWars costume that I later learned was sold for $2 seconds before we walked up.
Julia fell asleep in the car on the way home which worked out good because I have a staff meeting on Wednesdays anyway.
If it were up to Julia and I we would have skipped dinner entirely and kept working in our flower beds. That girl can weed! We discovered raspberries we didn't even know we had and cleaned up the hostas. She is a hard worker - something I hope she carries into adulthood.
She can turn on the drama when something doesn't go her way but her sense of humor and the silly faces she makes when she's being goofy help balance things out. I am lucky that she doesn't mind me combing her hair which is impressive because it takes up to 10 minutes some days! She finds a backdrop she likes (rocks, trees, or the grass) and then says
"Mama! Take a picture of me!"
My pleasure baby girl!
I've got lots of yard work...can I borrow Julia for a few days?
